It can’t directly cure cough but can treat some allergies that might cause your cough.

Slippery elm

This can improve the symptoms of some respiratory problems such as asthma and bronchitis. This can also relieve sore throat and cough.

Dietary changes for acid reflux

Chronic cough is caused by acid reflux. Acid reflux happens when you eat too much or certain foods that can trigger acid reflux. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, citrus foods, mint, chocolate, fried and fatty foods, spicy foods, garlic and onions, and tomatoes or tomato-based products.

Thyme

Thyme is a natural remedy for cough, sore throat, bronchitis, and digestive issues. You can look for syrups that contain thyme.

Bromelain

It contains anti-inflammatory properties that help with respiratory problems. One of the foods that are rich in bromelain is pineapple.

Salt-water gargle

This is one of the most effective ways on relieving wet cough and sore throat. Saltwater works on mucus or phlegm.
